Winemaking After magnificent weather allowed harvest to sail smoothly, grapes needed minimal sorting. Native yeast is used to ferment the wine in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After careful blending, the final wine showcases 70 percent Nerello Cappuccio and 30 percent Nerello Mascalese, marrying Cappuccio’s aromatics and acidity with Mascalese’s structure and fruit.
Vintage 2022 stands as an outstanding Sicilian vintage. A cold, dry winter followed by a hot, sun-filled summer set the stage for plump, healthy grapes. Our Nerello Capuccio and Nerello Mascalese are grown organically in limestone-rich, dry-farmed vineyards. They were harvested in early September, capturing a perfect balance of ripe fruit flavors and natural acidity.
