Schema 2018 Trebbiano Puglia IGT, Italy
The Schema Trebbiano is one of our new favorite white wines. Coming from the southern part of Italy there’s a lot of warm Italian sunshine that has gone into producing these grapes, so it’s no wonder that it feels at home by the pool (or any body of water you happen to be by). Puglia is surrounded by water on three sides, and the Mediterranean breeze cools everything down at night. This cooling effect is great for producing refreshing and delicious wines. Rich apple, pear, and citrus play off of white flowers in the nose, and a crisp minerality keeps us coming back for more. Great on its own or with food, we love it most with southern Italian favorites like roasted chicken, light salads, and fresh fish. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver medal at the 2020 Winemaker Challenge and at the 2019 Sommelier Challenge.
