Picklock 2013 Syrah Mendocino California
The Picklock 2013 Syrah is all about the complexity expressed in wines from Mendocino, California. As one of the northernmost outposts of winemaking in California, winemakers do things a little differently than they do in Napa and are able to harness some flavors that Napa wines simply can’t achieve. This robust wine has beautiful dark blackberry notes that blend well with herbs and spice while still retaining their freshness—the freshness comes from the higher acidity that is only possible in the cooler, northern climate. The gamey, tertiary flavors allow for pairing with all kinds of dishes, but we love pairing this wine with meats coming hot off the grill. It just took home a Bronze from the 2018 International Women's Wine Competition!
