Ligeroso 2017 Roaring Red Central Valley Chile

Ligeroso 2017 Roaring Red Central Valley Chile

The Central Valley of Chile is a favorite of some of our experts. The Humboldt current sweeps in across the landscape from Antarctica, cooling a valley that would otherwise have to rely on the mountain breezes. In our opinion, the region has some of the most interesting soils, and future winemaking prospects, of anywhere in South America. The Ligeroso Roaring Red combines grapes from two ends of the valley, to take the best of both terroirs. The wine really is “roaring” with a lively acidity, notes of dark fruit, and a little smoke. We have enjoyed pairing this wine with almost anything that comes off the grill, especially darker, gamier meats. This wine just took home Gold at the 2018 Denver International Wine Competition!
