Don Ercilla "Heroique" 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Central Valley Chile

Don Ercilla "Heroique" 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Central Valley Chile

The war between the Mapuche and the Spanish crown raged across Argentina in the final decades of the sixteenth century. From the conflict emerged the epic poem “La Araucana.” Written by a Spanish nobleman who ended up praising the Mapuche, the poetry was born from struggle. Like the poem, wine is born from struggle. The best wines come from soils that limit water, forcing them to work to grow the grapes. This wine is full-bodied, with beautiful tannins, blackcurrant, and mint freshness. Hints of chocolate and a ripe acidity make it as elegant as “La Araucana.” It’s easy to say that a wine this good is bottled poetry. It recently took home a Bronze medal from the 2018 International Women's Wine Competition.
